Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program
- License from the State of Texas as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Experience in the home care setting is preferred but not required.
- Pediatric experience is preferred but not required.
- Bilingual is preferred but not required. (English & Spanish)
Speech Language Pathologist Assistant Role (SLPA):
- Provide a wide range of interventions as outlined in the individualized plan of care determined by the supervising Speech Language Pathologist.
- Conduct individual or group treatment sessions of speech/language and oral motor development, and consult with other staff and the child's caregivers.
- Complete documentation to support the delivery of Speech Therapy services.
- Measure performance and report on patient’s medical record.
- Adhere to ethical and legal standards.
- Ensure continued competence and updated field knowledge.
