Hourly starting rate: $31.60 - $34.85

This role is crucial in helping our students achieve their full communicative potential.
Role Overview
The Speech and Language Pathology Assistant will work under the supervision of the Director of Student Services and general supervision of a licensed Speech and Language Pathologist to assist in providing speech and language therapy services to students. This includes implementing therapy plans, documenting student progress, and supporting the overall communication development of our students.
Primary Responsibilities
- Implement speech and language therapy activities as designed by the licensed Speech and Language Pathologist
- Assist in conducting screenings and assessments of students’ communication skills
- Document and report on student progress and any changes in their communicative abilities
- Prepare therapy materials and classroom activities to support speech and language therapy goals
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student success
- Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of student information
- Provide support and in-class assistance to students with communication disorders
Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or related field
- Certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or
- BA degree in speech and language pathology or communication disorders
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
