POSITION SUMMARY:
The Events Team Lead is expected to provide first-class customer service to all visitors and always displays a vast amount of knowledge of the facility's programs, events, and offerings. In addition, this position will also have a large role in supporting daily operations including executing & assisting in supervising program registration, a variety of clerical activities & related tasks, facility upkeep, and execution of sports events & non-sporting events.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Serve as the Events shift lead when assigned
- Supervise, manage breaks, and assign duties to Events Team Members during shifts
- Assist with training and monitoring quality control for the Events department
- Help ensure every guest/member receives a Warm Welcome & a Fond Farewell during their visit
- Directly assist guests with program registrations, point-of-sale transactions, inventory counting, wayfinding, and event and program information
- Assist with inbound and outbound phone calls while consistently delivering our Guest 1st Service Standards
- Cultivate an environment of first-class guest service with enthusiasm to all visitors
- Be knowledgeable about prices, programming, and the daily facility schedule
- Maintain confidentiality with guest and Team Member information
- Resolve all guest concerns and complaints and/or direct to appropriate Manager
- Actively share guest feedback to appropriate Team Members and managers
- Perform operating procedures relating to events and programs
- Support all aspects of open play and game day operations for pickleball games
- Responsible for opening and closing duties of the facility
- Assist in performing preventative maintenance work
- Assist with monitoring quality control of vendor performance
- Consistently communicate issues and relevant updates to direct supervisor
- Act as a liaison between the venue and the guests
- Assist with ensuring all buildings under management scope are clean, safe, and guest-ready
- Help maintain and keep inventory of department assets
- Assist in making sure all game day equipment is in proper working order
- Adhere to all facility and SFM policies and procedures
- Adhere to all local, state, health and safety laws
- Perform additional duties as requested by management
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
- General sports and event knowledge
- A strong passion for serving
- Proficient administration skills
- Proven ability to learn new software programs
- Strong eye for detail and safety compliance
- Experience operating an electric scoreboard
- Proven success in managing multiple tasks at one time
- Experience and success in customer service, leadership, and organization
- Action-oriented personality with a 'get it done' attitude and proficiency for efficiency
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays and long hours) and regular attendance necessary
- Previous supervisory experience is preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- 1-2 years of event execution and/or college athletics experience
- Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Must have excellent guest service skills
- Must be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and remain calm and focused in difficult and stressful situations
- Must be respectful and friendly
- Must work well with others
- Must take personal initiative for the betterment of the team and venue
- Commitment to the safety and well-being of others
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop or bend
- Will be required to operate a computer
- Facility has intermittent noise
