Spring 2025 CAD Co-op / Intern - McKenney's Inc.

McKenney's Inc. one of Atlanta's "Best Places to Work" is seeking a CAD Intern .  The selected candidate will be a member of our Virtual Construction department, and work in a team environment to dimension and annotate CAD drawings for use in the field . Our intern program is a robust experience that offers interns exposure to the business world and a meaningful work experience. We are seeking a highly motivated individual seeking business knowledge consistent with the AutoCAD standards set forth at McKenney’s, Inc.

JOB SUMMARY

The Co-op or Intern shall work in a team environment to dimension and annotate CAD drawings for use in the field from drawings developed by designers and engineers that are consistent with the AutoCAD/Revit standards set forth at McKenney’s, Inc.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Utilize McKenney’s drafting standards to create and edit shop drawings.

• Utilize McKenney’s drafting standards to create and edit spool sheets for fabrication.

• Dimension and annotate drawings developed by designers.

• Draft redlines drawings from project engineers and designers.

• Understand layering techniques, pen weights, etc. required to produce a clear & legible drawing.

• Willingness to seek knowledge from others.

• Enthusiastic about job responsibilities.

• Responsible for producing all documents in a timely matter based on job requirements to meet the commitments to our customers, both internal and external.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Drafting certificate or 6 months experience in drafting

• 6 months experience with AutoCAD 2018 or Revit 2018 or higher.

• Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments, working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, Web-enabled applications, and database software

• High school diploma or GED

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to draw simple sections with designer’s/engineer’s direction.

• Provide design assistance to engineers and designers.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
• No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
• No or very limited physical effort required.
