Spring 2025 Development Research Intern (IINE Boston)
The International Institute of New England is a 501(c)(3) non-profit serving refugees and immigrants in Boston, MA, Lowell, MA, and Manchester, NH. The Institute offers internships to students, graduate students, and recent graduates with demonstrated interest or experience in supporting refugee, asylee, and immigrant populations. Each internship includes an educational component, through which interns contextualize their experience and reflect on their service.
All internships are unpaid and correspond roughly with the US semester system:

Spring Internship: January through mid-May 2025
(Applications requested by November 29th, considered thereafter until positions are filled)
First consideration is given to applicants that can commit at least 16 hours per week over the course of the semester outlined above. Additionally, evening availability and the ability to travel to other IINE sites (in Lowell, MA and Manchester, NH) is a plus. Applicants are encouraged to apply regardless of whether their schedule fits the semester system; IINE makes exceptions on a case-by-case basis. Slots fill quickly and candidates are encouraged to apply earlier than the requested date above. Please note that this internship will be a hybrid format, meaning that some in-person hours at our Boston office are required.
?Multimedia & Photography Internship Overview
The Multimedia Intern will work with IINE’s Marketing and Communications team to create and execute multimedia projects that illustrate IINE’s work. This role will be responsible for aiding the implementation and development of a digital asset management system. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience in creating videos, photos, and other multimedia content that can be repurposed for fundraising events, social media, emails, and more! This role will be instrumental in increasing IINE’s digital footprint.

Reports to: Marketing Coordinator
Location: Boston, MA (hybrid format)
Key responsibilities:
- Help capture and edit video, photo, and audio for internal and external use.
- Support the maintenance of a digital asset management system.
- Assemble material packets to be used in donor meetings and at tabling events.
- Conduct online research on resettlement and immigration-related news and topics.
- Locate opportunities to apply expertise and add value to projects.
- Support the marketing team in event promotion and other activities as needed.

Qualifications:
- Interest in international, refugee, asylee, and immigrant issues
- Interest in marketing, communications, and fundraising
- Ability to work respectfully in a multicultural environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly organized with great attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and to switch gears quickly.
- Professionalism, discretion, and maturity in dealing with confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Proficiency in Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite Applications
- Experience with social media scheduling software, preferred but not required.
