JOB SUMMARY:
Design, advise and assist with the implementation of Textron Aviation’s (TXTAV) Hazard Communication program while interacting with various levels of employees in TXTAV’s manufacturing and service organizations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) & clearinghouse for TXTAV’s Hazard Communication Program and all Safety Data Sheet (SDS) issues
+ Maintain synchronization of the Cority & Beech & Cessna TCMIS systems
+ Submit all new SDSs to Cority after Environmental, Safety & M&P approval
+ Coordinate initial and quinquennial physical chemical inventory
+ Maintain all SDS and SDS associated records
+ Update the SDSs in Cority as manufacturers or distributors update or revise
+ Communicate with Textron Corporate on SDS issues
+ Attend Textron Corporate/TXTAV EHS meetings/seminars to stay abreast of policies and procedures and transmit this information to leadership, as appropriate
+ Research and find solutions for SDS input and dissemination improvements
+ Respond to EHS concerns presented by management, supervision, and employees, and communicate possible solutions based on best practice principles
+ Provide technical knowledge and support on SDS issues
+ Participate in the research, development, and presentation of Hazard Communication training programs
+ Perform other related duties as required by supervisor
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Be a Junior or Senior in a bachelor’s degree program in one of the following disciplines:
+ Environmental Health and Safety
+ Health Services Management
+ Engineering
+ Information Technology
+ Other related fields
+ Relevant experience would include Environmental Compliance, Safety, Health Management, Engineering, Workers Compensation Management and Leadership
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
+ Quickly grasps new concepts when faced with unfamiliar tasks
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma desired
+ Computer proficient
+ Basic understanding of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations
