About the Job
Kennedy Mechanical is currently looking to hire an apprentice for our Fire Protection - Construction department. We provide challenging and consistent year-round work, the opportunity for advancement, and a safe work environment. The sprinkler fitter will be responsible for installing, repairing, inspecting, and maintaining fire protection systems and back flow prevention devices in commercial buildings from rough-in to final inspection. Installations will be done safely, efficiently, and accurately according to blueprint specifications and building codes.

- Installation of sprinkler mains and line piping using a variety of materials
- Install a variety of sprinkler systems (wet, dry, deluge, pre-action, fire prints)
- Ability to trouble shoot minor electrical issues on sprinkler systems (compressors, flow switches, and tamper switches)
- Ensure safety guidelines are followed on every job - be knowledgeable of all OSHA guidelines
- Perform an accurate install of systems as per drawings
- Interact with the customer to ensure the work performed will meet their expectations
- Understand and wear proper PPE as required
- Submitting completed and necessary paperwork daily
- Follow all established procedures and standards communicated by management
- Problem solve and work on time in a self-directed environment
- Determine correct tools and equipment necessary to complete a job successfully
- Clean job site upon completion
- Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 60 pounds, climb ladders, and enter small spaces
- Proficient in the use of hand and power tools
- Must have reliable transportation
- Strong attention to detail
- OSHA 10 certification preferred
- Trade school or apprenticeship preferred
