job summary:

This position combines responsibilities in database administration and technical support, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will manage and maintain enterprise-level databases, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability, while also providing second-level technical support for hardware, software, and network communication issues.

Major Functions:

The Database Administrator/Technical Support Analyst oversees the design, configuration, maintenance, security, backup, and recovery of databases. They are responsible for ensuring database systems run optimally with scalability and performance in mind. The position also provides advanced technical support for diagnosing and resolving network communication issues, supporting data communications. Additionally, this role plays a key part in cross-training and collaboration with systems administrators, working closely with other teams to implement workflow procedures and database enhancements.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Ability to install, troubleshoot, and manage hardware and software in a Windows environment.
  
  
• Experience in Technical Support, Customer Service, Systems Administration, Report Writing, Dashboarding, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  
  
• Experience providing technical support and customer service.
  
  
• Ability to provide backup assistance for various technical roles as needed.
  
  
• Experience creating, updating, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for database administration and technical support processes.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server technologies, including database design, development, and administration.
  
  
• Knowledge of data communications and network troubleshooting.
  
  
• Proven ability to provide technical support for enterprise-level systems.
