Required Skills:
- Advanced level knowledge of SQL databases, scripting and XML. Preferably a junior to mid-level developer.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to constructively work with end-users and development to better understand requirements.
- Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously.
- Solid understanding of SQA best practices and methodologies working within an Agile environment.
- Ability to assess and communicate risk based on data.
- Ability to read developers code and write SQL test cases against that code.
- Experience in Quality Assurance or Development focused on back end testing is a must.
- Experience in writing complex SQL and doing peer reviews of other developer's code.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in creating, maintaining, and executing SQL scripts leveraging SQL Server.
- Experience in large-scale data warehouse environments using Star schemas or high-volume master data management environments.
- Previous experience testing or developing in the Medical industry and/or large, public-facing web-sites a plus.
- Previous experience using Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Microsoft Test Manager a plus.
- Develop SQL to use as validation against the developers SQL to ensure its working correctly as specified by the requirements.
- Perform end-to-end quality assurance activities for STS projects including estimating, test execution, issue tracking to resolution, and communication to QA and Project Management.Participate in Requirements and Design reviews in order to uncover defects earlier in the Software Development Lifecycle.
- Create QA deliverables (test plans, scripts) as needed for major test efforts to ensure quality test execution.
- Create and execute repeatable SQL scripts to satisfy requirements.
- Identify, document, and track defects to closure leveraging Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Microsoft Test Manager.
- Provide visibility to QA Management on issues, risks, timelines, and constraints/conflicts for assigned teams.
- Identify, streamline, and improve QA and SDLC processes by assisting in the creation of departmental quality standards, policies, procedures, templates and reference materials.
