Title: SQL Server/Sybase DBA
Location: Mclean, VA
Duration: 12 + months

Development Factory - Database Administrator
Responsibilities:
Provide application DBA support in SQL Server and Sybase RDBMS technologies.
Management / administration of development and test servers / databases
Work with TS counterparts and coordinate server and database builds, database refreshes and security implementations.
Troubleshooting and problem analysis during development and testing phases
Provide SME support in Microsoft SQL Server & Sybase technologies to a large group of developers and testers
Troubleshoot application/database issues during development/testing and deployment phases and provide solutions
Documentation around database procedures and maintain Database Issue Tracker
Skills:
Production / Application DBA with 7-9 years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2008/2005 administration on Windows 2008/2012
3-5 years of experience in Sybase ASE 15 administration.
Experience in Sybase Replication Server (version 15.x) is a plus.
Solid understanding of SQL Server/Sybase architecture.
Experience in SQL Server Management tools.
Familiarity with SSIS, SSRS and SSAS.
Experience in database version upgrades and migrations to newer versions of OS
Experience in migration from other RDBMSs, preferably Sybase, to SQL Server.
Proficient with Windows and Unix platforms.
Strong programming knowledge especially with T-SQL.
Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
Experience in supporting application teams in development/testing environments.
Troubleshooting Knowledge of client interfaces to database (such as ODBC, JDBC, Perl DBD, SybPerl, etc...)
Experience in supporting and troubleshooting Sybase Open Client applications (using CT-Lib,DB-Lib, etc..) is a plus.
Experience / knowledge of middleware technologies such as WebLogic, WebMethods, Apache/Tomcat is a plus.
Experience with SQL Server/Sybase on virtual platforms such as VMWare is a plus.
