Summary Statement:
The Financial Reporting Senior Accountant is responsible for the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements. The ideal candidate will have experience with financial statement audits, US GAAP, accounting research and resolution of complex accounting issues, new accounting guidance and reporting governance application and implementation. Assists Executive Director of Financial Reporting with various special projects and works closely with senior management. Engage in corporate initiatives and intricate transaction analysis, ensuring decision makers understand accounting implications.
Job Duties:Primary Job Duties: – Includes, but is not limited to:
- Assists in the preparation of annual and quarterly financial statements in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Standards (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Monitors and ensures compliance with other financial reporting requirements across the organization (to lenders, owners, regulatory authorities, etc.).
- Proficiency in time management and the ability to thrive under pressure are essential.
- Research and assess impact of new accounting standards and prepare technical accounting analyses for recurring and non-recurring complex transactions in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS.
- Serve as key contact to internal and external auditors related to periodic operational and financial statement audits.
- Responsible for the technical accounting analysis on capital markets or treasury initiatives by identifying and addressing accounting issues through the preparation of technical accounting memos.
- Assists in the preparation of ASC 350 and ASC 360 impairment analyses.
- Communicates and explains accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the management and accounting teams.
- Ability to manage multiple time sensitive financial projects simultaneously.
Qualifications: – Includes, but is not limited to:
- Experience in U.S. GAAP, ASC 842 lease accounting, ASC 606 revenue recognition combined with the ability to research, propose, and document company positions on complex accounting issues.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment on multiple assignments with tight deadlines, particularly at quarter ends.
- Demonstrate strong organization skills, high attention to detail, and communication skills.
- Ability to be flexible to a changing environment, acknowledging urgency when necessary.
- Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
Preferred:
- Working knowledge and experience with gaming software.
- Previous experience working in a large, luxury resort setting.
Minimum Education and Experience:
- At least 21 years of age.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, master’s degree in related field a plus.
- One to three years of experience required in financial reporting and accounting or combination of public accounting and/or industry experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Regulations:
- Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Current CPA certification preferred or working towards it.
