Description
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Redmond, Washington. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial health of our operations, focusing on inventory management, financial reporting, audit compliance, payroll reporting, and process improvement initiatives. The Sr. Accountant will work collaboratively with internal teams, auditors, and tax advisors to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Position will start with on-site training and eventually move to more of a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee inventory costing processes for accurate recording and reporting of material and goods costs.
- Prepare financial statements such as inventory costs, cash flow, and payroll reports.
- Act as a point of contact for internal and external auditors, preparing audit schedules, and ensuring timely delivery of documentation.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies through accurate financial records and reporting.
- Review and reconcile cash receipts, ensuring timely posting and resolution of discrepancies.
- Assist with the preparation and review of income tax reporting and support tax planning by gathering necessary financial data.
- Collaborate with HR to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure accurate, timely payroll records for audit and reporting purposes.
- Identify opportunities for improvement in accounting processes and implement automation tools to enhance operational efficiency.
- Mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on accounting processes and professional development.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives to support overall business objectives.
Requirements - Possess proficiency in account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation
- Have experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger management
- Ability to create and manage journal entries
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with month end close procedures
- Knowledge of fixed asset inventory and inventory accounting
- Familiarity with manufacturing cost accounting
- Skill in financial reporting and financial statement preparation
- Ability to prepare supporting workpapers
- Experience in external auditing and managing audit schedules
- Proven track record in process improvement efforts
