About the Job
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) seeks a Senior Analyst to join its Real Estate Solutions Division. The senior analyst will engage with statewide partners to understand available properties and lead the development of real estate packages for prospective projects. This individual will convey valuable data from partner engagements and site visits to the team to ensure that the real estate database is accurate and informed grant selections are made.
This position will join a high-impact team that broadly focuses on analyzing, developing, and implementing real estate solutions for economic development projects across Virginia. The team collaborates and coordinates with partners (e.g., local and regional economic development organizations, utilities, state funding partners) and third-party private entities to strategically develop and maintain a comprehensive, statewide portfolio of project-ready industrial sites and other real estate options for the full range of economic development project types and sizes considering Virginia and its regions.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct a community visitation program to counties, cities, and regional organizations to gain knowledge of real estate
- Build relationships with and counsel community and regional partners to implement site development strategies and projects
- Engage with economic development projects to identify and recommend compelling real estate solutions in response to client inquiries
- Participate in project consultations, prospect meetings or presentations as necessary in order to make appropriate site/building and/or community/region recommendations
- Analyze and assist in strategy development to align Virginias real estate inventory with current and future economic development opportunities
- Collaborate with economic development partners and state agencies on various site development activities and grant programs
- Support the administration of VEDPs site-related grant programs with application evaluation and interviews, program application and guideline updates, participation in site visits and grant selection processes
- Assist with communications and services to Virginia's economic development partner community
- Evaluate the adequacy of Virginias real estate product offerings for the various sectors and regions of Virginia and Work through grant programs and development community to address gaps
- Assist with updating the States online searchable database of available sites and buildings (VirginiaScan) for recommendation to business prospects
Skills:
- Relevant experience in positions of progressive responsibility at an economic development, civil engineering, construction management, industrial real estate, and/or public organization
- Impeccable presentation and communication skills (verbal and written) and experience conveying complex content to stakeholders
- Strong motivation to sharpen analytical skills and bring new and innovative ideas to the team
- Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel
- Strong organizational skills and experience managing multiple projects
Experience:
- 3 years experience in economics, business, public policy/administration, planning, or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of commercial real estate or development, project management fundamentals, and local government is preferred
- Experience with grant administration
Highly competitive applicants will also have one or both of the following:

- Familiarity with Virginias economy
