Medline Industries, LP is seeking experienced Sr. Applications Architect(s) for its Libertyville, IL office. This position will work closely with IT teams to connect technology initiatives with
business strategies, collaborate on and influence change to business models, process, organizations, and investments by contributing a technology perspective and analytical approach to
decision activities.
Job responsibilities and duties include:
- Translate business and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives and documents all architecture design and analysis work.
- Create architectural designs to guide and contextualize solution development across products, services, projects, and systems (including applications, technologies, processes, and
- information) in a way that is directly actionable, clear, and unambiguous.
- Design and direct the governance activities associated with ensuring architecture, development, and security compliance.
- Act as a consultant on a broad range of technologies, platforms and vendor offerings and drive targeted business outcomes while maintaining alignment with the overall enterprise architecture.
- Collaborate with management, business leaders, IT architecture, and other stakeholders to connect the business roadmap with operational decisions.
- Identify the organizational impact (for example, on skills, processes, structures, or culture) and financial impact of the solutions architecture.
- Produce expert analysis, research, and designs for technical solutions that enable business capabilities, processes, and functions.
- Research and design implementation strategies for new or alternate technologies that will further business goals and provide competitive advantages.
- Stay abreast of current technology trends both in the industry as a whole and with the applications deployed in the landscape.
- Define the principles, guidelines, standards, and solution patterns to ensure technical decisions are aligned with the enterprise's future-state architecture vision.
- Lead evaluation, design, and analysis for the implementation of a solutions architecture across a group of specific business applications or technologies based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities, value-streams, business requirements and enterprise standards.
- Work closely with the product owners and project/product managers to ensure a robust architectural runway that can support future business requirements throughout the product lifecycle.
- Provide consulting support to application teams to ensure the project/product is aligned with the overall enterprise, solution, and application architectures.
- Coach, mentor, and collaborate with technical subject matter experts, application team members, and EA peers to implement architectures that enable and drive new business capabilities and operating models.
- Troubleshoot issues and work with the engineering, infrastructure, and operations teams to resolve them.
This position does not supervise any other employees.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering, Electrical or Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, or any related IT or Engineering field of
study, plus at least five (5) years of post-degree, progressively responsible experience in any related position(s) through which the required experience was gained
Qualified applicants must also have demonstrable proficiency, skill, experience, or knowledge with the following:
- Developing system designs, strategies, evaluations, and roadmaps.
- End-to-end application development experience.
- Three or more of the following software development technologies: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Java, .NET, PHP, or ABAP.
- One or more of the following database technologies: MS SQL, MongoDB, Oracle, or HANA.
- Demonstrated experience designing and building applications for the cloud.
- One or more of the following Cloud technologies: Azure, AWS, or GCP.
