Our client, a top-performing engineering, construction, and architecture firm with a global presence, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join their team. This is your chance to lead the design of fire protection systems for diverse projects across various industries, including energy, environmental, manufacturing, transportation, and buildings. The successful candidate can be based in one of these cities: Kansas City, MO; Columbus, OH; Morristown, NJ; Sioux Falls, SD; Bloomington, MN; Brea, CA; Denver, CO; Arlington, VA; Honolulu, HI; Richmond, VA.
What You'll Do:
- Lead the design and specification of fire protection systems, including wet-pipe, dry-pipe, pre-action, deluge, and foam/water suppression systems, for a variety of facilities.
- Conduct fire protection calculations, including hydraulic analysis, battery calculations, and voltage drop calculations.
- Evaluate building and life safety requirements, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
- Lead construction administration activities, including shop drawing review, field inspections, and system testing.
- Prepare and present technical reports and client presentations, showcasing your expertise and building strong relationships.
- Contribute to business development efforts, including identifying key pursuits and managing proposal development.
- Mentor and guide less experienced engineers, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Fire Protection Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited university.
- 7+ years of relevant design experience.
- Professional Fire Protection Engineer (P.E.) license.
- Advanced knowledge of design tools, including hydraulic calculation software, AutoCAD/Revit, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working with military standards is strongly preferred.
