Schedule: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM Monday through Friday
Works with business lenders, business members, and legal department to effectuate the documentation, closing, and booking of business loans while meeting deadlines established by the financing needs of the member.
Responsibilities:- Prepares loan and collateral documentation for various loan types and structures including lines of credit, term loans, commercial mortgages, construction loans, and equipment loans.
- Prepares term sheets and/or loan commitment letters for approved business loans.
- Analyzes loan transactions and works with legal counsel to assist with preparing legal documents required to close business loans. Ensures loans are documented and closed according to the credit approval.
- Performs appropriate due diligence tasks and ensures conditions precedents are met prior to closing and funding a loan or making future advances on business loans.
- Collaborates with internal and external counsel, title companies, and the Accounting Department to meet funding and wiring requirements for closings on commercial loans.
- Manages and clears post-closing legal documentation exceptions in compliance with Suncoast Credit Union policy.
- Prepares loan satisfactions and records the same with government entities.
- Assists business members with questions related to their business loans and acts as a liaison for them with business lenders and internal and outside legal counsel. Assists service center staff with business lending questions.
- Monitors construction projects throughout their draw period.
- Prepares loan files to be scanned and indexed.
- Attends job-specific training classes as requested by manager. Completes annual BSA/AML compliance training and understands employee’s role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program, and completes FACT Act Red Flag training.
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting area of expertise. Attends educational events that will increase professional knowledge and be otherwise beneficial to the Credit Union. Completes annual BSA/AML Compliance Training and understands employee’s role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program, and completes FACT Act Red Flag training.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, legal studies, or a related field. (A compatible combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements.)
- Previous experience in a commercial lending environment desired.
- Able to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities, and meet deadlines. Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized. Able to analyze and resolve difficult problems and situations.
- Good knowledge and understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures pertinent to the job.
- Good knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities.
- Good knowledge and understanding of all Credit Union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators. Able to influence others through explanation of facts, policies, and practices.
- Works independently with general supervision.
