You'll be responsible for crafting accurate conceptual, definitive, and man-hour estimates, ensuring project budgets are realistic and aligned with scope and objectives. This is a long term, full-time, on-site position located in Atlanta, GA.
Responsibilities
- Oversee independent cost estimates for change orders, providing cost support for Value Engineering Studies, design workshops, and procurement documents.
- Develop complex cost models, perform claims analysis, and generate preliminary estimates before detailed designs.
- Analyze project specs, materials, and historical data to estimate labor, materials, equipment, and duration of construction activities.
- Ensure quality and accuracy in quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and compliance with financial and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with scheduling and risk teams to align estimates with construction schedules and project risk profiles.
- Manage estimation software use, maintain historical cost databases, and lead or support price negotiations.
- Lead multiple estimating projects, providing oversight, quality control, and guidance to team members.
- Participate in client presentations and perform other related duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related degree plus 5+ years of relevant experience OR 13 years of relevant experience with the development of cost estimates.
Preferred Qualifications
- AACE Certified Estimating Professional (CEP), Certified Cost Professional (CCP), ASPE Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or equivalent.
- Experience working for a general contractor for a minimum of 3-5 years.
- Experience preparing cost estimates on behalf of general contractors using commercially available estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, InEight, HCSS, HeavyJob, ProCore, BidNet Estimator, Viewpoint Estimating, Primavera)
- Experience in 2 or more phases of the project lifecycle (e.g., predesign, design, procurement, construction, and post-construction phases).
- Experience working as a client's PM/CM agent (e.g., providing program management/construction management services), or as part of a design-build contractor (or equivalent design and construction experience).
Compensation Details
The salary range listed for this role is $125k-$160k. The final salary offered is based on multiple factors and is thoughtfully aligned with each candidate's level of experience, breadth of skills, total education achieved, certifications/licenses that have been obtained, etc.
