Senior Cost Accountant

Must have:
5+ years Cost Accounting, within that at least 3 years GAAP experience
Excel
Bachelor's degree (preferably Accounting, Finance, Business or similar)
ERP experience (they use NetSuite)
Job Summary
The Senior Cost Accountant, reporting to the Controller, will oversee all aspects of cost and inventory accounting. This role is integral to the operations team, focusing on developing cost accounting processes and supporting the organization’s growth initiatives. The Senior Cost Accountant will collaborate closely with operations, procurement, engineering, and R&D teams to ensure accurate inventory accounting and standard cost management.
Key Responsibilities
-Maintain and update standard costs in ERP, rolling them out as needed.
-Review work orders to ensure accuracy and work with operations to address any discrepancies.
-Analyze the cost of goods sold and manufacturing variances, summarizing findings for management presentations.
-Manage all month-end closing activities related to cost of sales and inventory, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
-Prepare monthly management reports, including cost variance analysis, scrap metrics, inventory turnover, and other assigned KPIs.
-Serve as the lead accounting resource for implementing WIP module enhancements in ERP.
-Assist in preparing cost estimates for new products or modifications to existing -products as required.
-Lead physical inventory counts and recommend necessary adjustments.
-Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for cost accounting processes.
