This Architect will contribute to the technical direction and design of the CableLabs Cable Information Architecture (CIA). CableLabs' CIA is based on the TM Forum model and has been extended for the Cable industry.
This position requires a combination of inventiveness and experience. The ideal candidate will think in terms of balancing near term technical needs with the strategic direction of the program. This position is responsible for understanding and leveraging existing standards in addition to making sure the entire solution design is complete and consistent with the needs of the affiliates.

Job Description

This position requires a combination of inventiveness and experience. The ideal candidate will think in terms of balancing near term technical needs with the strategic direction of the program. This position is responsible for understanding and leveraging existing standards in addition to making sure the entire solution design is complete and consistent with the needs of the affiliates.
Responsibilities
- Work with Member organizations to facilitate the evolution and adoption of common back office (BSS/OSS) models and architectures.
- Translate business requirements into specific system, application, and process designs including working with customers to identify functional requirements and leading others in the identification, justification and design of the Cable Information Architecture.
- Lead data model extension and interface design specification development and publishing.
- Assist in analysis of specific system elements, such as system software, transactions, integration architecture, data modeling, and processes, with recommendations for appropriate changes
- Develop relationships with key project stakeholders to assist in meeting these objectives.
- Assist in the evolution of specifications, models and tools for the benefit of customers.
Required Skills/Experience
- Bachelors' Degree in CS/Engineering (or equivalent) with 5-7 years of experience in enterprise data architecture.
- Hands-on experience in Java and Spring Framework architecture and development experience required this experience must be current
- Current experience working as an Architect
- Excellent understanding of OOD, OOP and common Design Patterns.
- A good blend of both functional and technical skills in enterprise solution architecture.
- Experience designing open architectures that adhere to service oriented principles.
- Solid understanding of integration technologies and approaches (SOA, ESB, WS-*, XML/XSD, REST, JSON).
- 2+ yrs UML Modeling experience
- Data modeling experience including design of conceptual, logical and physical data architectures;
- Proficiency with at least one RDBMS and SQL experience.
- Experience applying an industry model
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to create and present technical concepts to an executive level audience.
- Ability to travel 20%.
Experience with Any of the Following is a Plus
- Experience in systems Integration and implementation. Some working knowledge of cable systems BSS/OSS architecture, network operations, and administration Experience with at least one major vendor B/OSS platform
- Experience with TM Forum Shared Information Data Model
- Experience with Master Data Management and Data Virtualization
