Sr Design Engineer - Talent Wave Associates, LLC

Join our team to lead the design and development of cutting-edge products and components. Utilize advanced engineering techniques to drive innovation and mentor the next generation of engineers.

• Oversee the design and development process from concept to production.
• Create, test, and refine prototypes using CAD software and other engineering tools.
• Conduct thorough research and analysis to enhance design proposals and improve existing products.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, marketing, and quality assurance teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with business goals.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to junior engineers and interns.
• Establish and maintain design briefs, performance criteria, and production specifications.
• Identify and evaluate materials for new products, considering cost, performance, and sustainability.
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and cost analyses.
• Enhance user experience by improving product usability and functionality.
• Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout the design process.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, implementing best practices in design and engineering processes.
• Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately.
• Adhere to 5S standards, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the work area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
• 5 years of experience in product design and development, with a preference for experience in injection molding, sandcasting, permanent castings, and die castings.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment; foundry experience is a significant plus.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and other design tools.
