Sr Dir Finance - Nordstrom

Job Description This is a Hybrid, 3 days a week on-site role in our Downtown Seattle Location. The Senior Director of Finance for Merchandising will be responsible for developing and leading a high-performing team focused on developing financial plans and the supporting the strategies to deliver; managing the end-to-end performance results across merchandising divisions; influencing the drivers of these results through communication with key merchant, business stakeholders and executive leadership. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance, this individual will engage with Merchant leaders, cross-functional business partners and key Finance peers in support of driving business performance. This role requires an individual with strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills to create an environment that leverages value-added analytics, applies disciplined process support and controls, and values timely, accurate delivery of insights and actions. A day in the life... + Embrace and champion change and process improvement across finance and business + Provide coaching, context, and inspiration to the team through daily interactions, to prioritize work, lead issue resolution, and guide solutions, as well as the team's career development + Lead Merchandising financial planning, measurement, and financial governance + Lead a team supporting the financial planning process through month end close, forecasting, budgeting and long-term planning while analyzing results ensuring execution and accountability across the business + Track and communicate performance through reporting on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to ensure transparency and accountability + Expertise in driving ad-hoc analyses that help drive strategic decisions. + Makes insightful recommendations with a clear understanding of future implications and consideration of scenarios and alternatives + Partner with executive management, cross-functional partners, and key stakeholders to anticipate and proactively address future business changes + Anticipate changes to trends and patterns to influence change across a diverse set of leaders with a high degree of ambiguity + Build, develop, and foster an efficient and effective team of finance professionals You own this if you have... + Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required; MBA preferred + 12+ years of experience in finance or economics with scope and accountability progression + Strong team leader with a passion for teaching early and mid-career professionals + Skilled with corporate metrics and analytical methods + Experienced in driver-based model building that is scalable and flexible + Proficiency in MS Office suite + Ability to think strategically and communicate effectively with all levels of management + Highly collaborative and comfortable dealing with ambiguity, influencing across multiple complex organizations, creating effective internal business partnerships + Demonstrated ability to effectively translate financial analysis and insights into meaningful and actionable business communications and recommendations We've got you covered... Pay Range Details The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations. Washington: $180,000 - $290,000 Annually This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses.
