Responsibilities:THE ROLE:
The Sr. Director, Server AI Products is a key member of the Server Leadership Team, driving the execution of AI server products and platforms with Customers, Partners and the Ecosystem and helping drive the future definition and planning of these products.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in product management/marketing in AI, server and datacenter products, and strong leadership skills to motivate and engage a team of business development, product management, technologists, and product marketing professionals both in a direct leadership and matrixed environment to achieve outstanding business results.
KEY SKILLS:
- Ability to guide product, platform, and software definition using credible insights developed by interacting with end customers, strategic partners and by following usage, market and economic trends
- Driving AMD’s AI Server product roadmap and agenda while leveraging AMD’s historical track record of innovation and strategic market positioning
- Ability to synthesize market data, customer input and internal capabilities into a compelling AI CPU, platform and software portfolio that will drive AMD share growth in the AI server space.
- Strong knowledge of historical Server CPU trends, coupled with a vision for the impact of AI on the industry
- Exceptional communication skills to address multiple internal and external stakeholders. Must have experience working closely with C-suite executives
- Ability to be hands-on with technical and business analysis to drive results with urgency.
- Expertise in managing P&L strategy for >$1B business models
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive the end-to-end AI story for AMD Servers all the way from short term business development and deliverables all the way to long term product definition
- Engage closely with customers and drive GTM of the existing products AMD has in the market collaborating closely with our software and GPU teams
- Ownership of Server CPU for AI product portfolio, responsible for driving execution from planning thorough high volume production and end-of-life
- Collaborate with Server Business Unit go-to-market teams to synthesize market requirements into winning future AI CPU products
- Develop EPYC CPU for AI product business cases in collaboration with go-to-market and sales teams that meet EPYC AI business growth and market share objectives
- Collaborate with engineering execution teams to ensure EYPC AI CPU product requirements, goals and objectives are met and exceeded
- Partner with engineering teams to create software and platform ecosystems that support the AI value proposition and vision for AMD’s EPYC CPU for AI products
- Manage product migration across multiple generations, supporting consistent share growth in selected vertical markets while positioning EPYC CPU’s for AI use
- Represent AMD’s CPU for AI interests in Industry consortiums, forums and events with the intent to demonstrate AMD’s AI product leadership
- Manage a team of hardware and software product managers and technologists across the full product scope (HW, SW, platform) and lifetime product management
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Expertise in business operations / general management, strategy, product operations or management consulting for Infrastructure/semiconductor/high-tech industry
- Proven track record of leading highly-complex projects, working cross-functionally, and delivering results on time.
- Ability to define the path and lay out the vision for others to follow
- Desire to solve problems and drive continuous improvement
- Extensive analytical skills with the ability to develop business cases, track execution with quantifiable results, and measure success
- People-management experience, developing new talent and recruiting industry experts
- Deep knowledge of AI and how it is used and deployed in industry
- International business acumen with understanding of trade regulations, cultural norms, and operating processes
- Ability to travel
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Expertise in the semiconductor industry
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering, computer science, or relevant experience
- MBA or MS with industry experience preferred
