Electromechanical Engineer.
Position Type: Contract
Required: 8+ years’ work experience in complex electromechanical system R&D environment.
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics Engineering or a close field is required.
Experience in heavily-regulated industries such as medical device or aerospace is required.
Must have hands-on experience in design, assembly and testing of electro-mechanical systems.
Knowledge of industry best practices for development of complex electromechanical systems.
Familiarity with ASME V&V (Verification & Validation) 40 a plus.
Previous experience in design transfer/new product introduction desired.
Demonstrated CAD proficiency highly desired
Solidworks preferred.
Experience with statistical tools and software such as Minitab is desired.
Experience using, modifying, and programing in MATLAB Simulink or LabView highly desired.
Experience developing firmware/software code/applications is highly desired.
Must have experience in cross-functional collaboration and technical leadership.
Must have experience in project management including task timeline estimation and work breakdown structures.
Able to execute assigned projects and duties with minimal supervision.
Outstanding documentation and communication skills required.
Proficiency in using MS Office required.
Responsibilities: Support identification of, specification creation for, development and characterization of manufacturing in-line test and build fixtures.
Identify improvement points in electromechanical assembly build process.
Develop electromechanical fixtures to support development of complex medical robotics system.
Assist in specifying firmware and software development requirements for fixtures.
Author relevant documents related to fixture designs and development process improvements.
Maintain disciplined test, configuration control, documentation, and management processes throughout.
Support a variety of multi-disciplinary technical and process improvement projects of different sizes and scopes.
Help with the vendor communications and procurement issues.
Manage and communicate assigned projects in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
