Job Summary:
As a Senior Industrial Engineer with a multifaceted focus on continuous improvement, automation, and warehouse management systems (WMS), you will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing our operational processes. Reporting directly to the Director of Supply Chain & Logistics, you will lead the charge in driving efficiency, productivity, and innovation within our distribution operations. Your expertise in continuous improvement methodologies, automation technologies, and WMS implementation will be instrumental in optimizing our workflows, reducing costs, and enhancing overall performance. By spearheading initiatives to streamline processes, integrate automation solutions, and optimize WMS functionalities, you will ensure that our warehouse operations operate at peak efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and reliability. This role presents an exciting opportunity to lead transformational change and propel our organization to new heights of operational excellence and competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Continuous Improvement:
- Develop and implement strategies to drive continuous improvement initiatives across all distribution operations.
- Lead cross-functional teams to identify process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement. This may include time studies.
- Utilize lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other continuous improvement tools to optimize workflows and streamline processes.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and track the impact of improvement initiatives.
Automation Integration:
- Evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual labor.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to implement automation solutions, such as robotic systems, conveyor systems, and automated material handling equipment.
- Lead feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and ROI calculations to assess the viability of automation projects.
- Oversee the design, installation, and commissioning of automated systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing operations.
Warehouse Management System (WMS) Optimization:
- Partner with IT and operations teams to optimize the functionality and performance of the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Configure WMS settings, workflows, and rules to align with operational requirements and best practices.
- Conduct regular audits and system assessments to identify opportunities for WMS enhancements and process improvements.
- Provide training and support to warehouse staff on WMS usage, troubleshooting, and best practices.
Project Management:
- Lead and manage industrial engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time delivery and within budget.
- Develop project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies to achieve project objectives.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including operations, IT, procurement, and finance, to drive project execution and implementation.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to overcome obstacles and achieve project goals.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices in all industrial engineering activities.
- Collaborate with the Human Resources team to identify and mitigate safety hazards, ergonomic risks, and environmental concerns within distribution facilities.
- Implement measures to promote a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence among team members.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, Required
- Exposure & Utilization of Power BI preferred.
- LEAN-Six Sigma Green Belt certification, Required
- 5 years relevant work experience, Required
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and legal and business judgment, with ability to influence others and build strong professional relationships.

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds or more at times.
