Job Summary
The Kettering Health Senior Informatics Analyst assumes a project leadership role in planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation of modifications of clinical information systems. The Senior Informatics Analyst works under the direction of the Informatics Manager or Director. He/she utilizes knowledge and skills of clinical practice to determine clinical functions that are suitable for clinical applications and to ensure that clinical information systems are consistent with professional standards with clinical practice. He/she assumes leadership responsibilities for moderate to complex projects that involve the automation of patient data with corresponding workflow changes. The Senior Informatics Analyst considers factors related to safety, effectiveness, cost, compliance impact on clinical practice in the planning and delivery of services. The Senior Informatics Analyst coordinates end user communications regarding changes to the clinical information system. This position uses the following tools to accomplish informatics goals: project management methodology, workflow documentation and analysis, change management methods, lean organizational manufacturing techniques and interpersonal communications.
Minimum Education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related healthcare field from an accredited school
• Master’s Degree in Nursing or other health care related field obtained within 5 years of hire
Minimum Work Experience
• A minimum of 3-5 years clinical experience
• Minimum of 1 year as an Informatics Analyst recommended
• Clinical experience that has provided opportunity to demonstrate competencies in clinical care, computer science, leadership, education, or staff development required.
Required Licenses, Certifications and Registrations
• Informatics Certification from ANCC (Nursing) within 3 years of hire for staff with no informatics experience and 2 years for those with informatics experience.
• CPHIMS HIMSS Certification (other disciplines) within 5 years of hire for staff with Bachelor’s degree and within 3 years for those with a graduate degree.
• Clinical license in the state of Ohio

Essential Functions
• Acts as a go-to or expert person for specific modules/components of the clinical information system.
• Leads a group of subject matter experts and leaders to achieve standardization of workflows and system content as needed.
• Monitors patterns of issues across the network and identifies issues specific to a module and/or specialty group with global impact considerations.
• Actively participates on appropriate councils or committees as assigned.
• Works with all members of the health care team, both clinical and non-clinical to deploy informatics solutions.
• Plans for implementation of change if necessary, to include education, tip sheets, communications, etc..
• Provides support to the end user.
• Maintains comprehensive knowledge of clinical applications including workflows, and interrelatedness/interdependence with other EPIC applications/functions in order to recommend and advocate for clinical information system modifications
• Identifies all stakeholders and involves them in clinical information system changes during deployment of informatics solutions.
• Takes responsibility for coordinating the work of a specified group of employees who are assigned to a project/issue
