Job Description:
We are building a world-class Procurement organization of trusted advisors that deliver value and foster innovation to fuel Maxar’s missions. We are looking for an IT Senior Category Specialist to join our team in Westminster, CO. This person will bring strong sourcing, category management, and contracting experience and is passionate about delivering results. The Maxar Corporate Procurement team has 2 Category Management pillars, and this role will support IT Procurement. In this role, you will manage and negotiation the sourcing and contract efforts for goods and services across the business.
Responsibilities:
- Lead sourcing, contract negotiations, supplier management, and portfolio management events across multiple categories
- Develop procurement strategies and category plans that deliver significant value to stakeholders
- Proactively manage categories to optimize results - including spend analytics, supplier performance and stakeholder management
- Analyze data and metrics to drive value and deliver savings
- Contract management activities including but not limited to: interpretation, negotiation, redlining, versioning, facilitation between stakeholders, legal and the supplier
- Develop relationships with team members and stakeholders across Maxar
- Potential for broad exposure to multiple indirect/corporate categories including Facilities, Marketing, Professional Services, Talent Acquisition, IT and HR
- Participate in supporting Category Manager with special projects and ad hoc requests
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident
- Minimum of 5 years related experience in contract negotiations, sourcing, category management, supplier management, spend analytics and/or market intelligence, or procurement/supply chain education.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledgeable of procurement processes and contract management, project management, and supplier performance management
- Experience leading large and complex sourcing events and contract negotiations (in excess of $500K)
- Prior knowledge of indirect corporate categories is beneficial
- Critical business skills should include financial, cost and total cost-of-ownership analysis and intervention and risk assessment
- Familiar with e-procurement tools – sourcing, contract management, spend analytics, risk management, and transactional P2P applications
