Description:
Responsible for the detail design documentation, development, evaluation and system performance testing, unit testing and maintenance of internally developed and externally purchased applications.
Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
Reviews and Translates system specifications into code.
Creates or modifies code for moderately complex system
design that may span platforms. Ensures code complies with Florida BLue architectural and SDLC standards. Writes scripts to run programs.
Perform Unit Testing and Prepare Application for Release to Testing Team.
Analyze Defects Found in Testing and Fix Coding Errors.
Assist with Production Support issues/problems as required. Respond to and resolve production support issues in timely manner.
Provide research, development, and analysis support to meet various departments' business needs, products, and processes. Perform accurate and timely research, data collection, analysis, verification, and reporting of data or information.
Adapt to a dynamic, changing environment.
Collaborates with other IT departments to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts throughout all phases of SDLC.
Provides scope, sizing and estimates required to complete code, Determines impacts and integration points.
Write code for complex system designs (for example, dealing large # of interaction points, large # of tables and types of tables, complex business rules, etc.). Write programs that span platforms. Code to and/or create Application Programming Interfaces (APIs).
Write code mostly for developing new programs.
Review code developed by other Developers.
Provide input to / drive programming standards.
Write detailed technical specifications for entire systems (made up of several subsystems). Identify integration points. Review technical specs created by other developers. Ensure sufficient quality and compliance of documentation to architectural standards.
Report missing elements found in system and functional requirements to a other Developers, Client and SAs, plus able to explain impacts on subsystem and propose a strategy for filling gaps in documentation.
Consult with other Developers, plus Client, SAs and vendors to a great degree.
Assist in reviewing vendor products. Provide SME input on compliance of products to architectural standards and impacts to IT environment.
Perform unit testing and debugging. Set test conditions based upon code specifications. Able to debug most program errors (simple to complex). May seek assistance from vendors to debug complex errors.
Support transition of application throughout the Product Development life cycle. Document what has to be migrated. Often requires more coordination points for transitioning systems.
Work on integration issues and determines the integration approach. Coordinate with other areas for integration architecture solutions.
Assist technical team with defining configuration for installing products. May consult on database setup. May load database for testing, especially if there are multiple tables.
Review vendor research and gap analyses. Narrows down vendor choices and makes final recommendation to technical team and client.
Act as a technical mentor to other team members.
May act as a technical lead.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ IT or equivalent work experience of
10 or more years' experience coding and documentation protocol as well as unit testing, change management and release procedures.
Working knowledge of System Development Life Cycle, product development methodologies, database methodologies and system integration.
