Duration: 6 Months
The Cleanroom Senior Maintenance Technician is an on-site, temp-to-perm role responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on cleanroom manufacturing and auxiliary equipment. This position requires troubleshooting and preventive maintenance across various systems, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The Technician will also conduct basic construction, plumbing, and electrical work on facility infrastructure, utilizing both hand and power tools, and will be expected to support the Cleanroom Maintenance team with leadership and innovative ideas to enhance operational efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities:- Oversee and execute the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program for production equipment, building, and grounds.
- Diagnose issues in custom equipment and perform repairs or adjustments as needed.
- Document maintenance activities in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Procure maintenance supplies, equipment, and parts as needed.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment maintenance and professional services.
- Provide repair and replacement recommendations to management.
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems, perform root cause analysis, and partner with operations and engineering for process improvement.
- Manage the installation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Attend daily meetings and complete necessary training workshops.
- Utilize machine shop equipment (e.g., milling machine, lathe machine, surface grinder, drill press) to fabricate or repair industrial parts.
- Maintain inventory and ensure necessary materials and equipment are on hand.
- Minimize downtime by coordinating with staff and implementing contingency plans.
- Replace defective parts, set clearances, and adjust alignments using hand and power tools.
- Troubleshoot and repair automated equipment, including PLCs and HMIs.
- Mechanical & Electrical Aptitude: Strong capability in both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Skilled in critical thinking, troubleshooting, and providing technical solutions.
- Communication: Clear and effective communication skills, especially under fast-paced or emergency conditions.
- Reliability: Regular and punctual attendance, with flexibility to work overtime if necessary.
- Technical Knowledge:
- Proficiency with PLCs and HMIs
- Familiarity with machine shop equipment (e.g., milling, turning, surface grinder)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings
- Education:
- High School diploma or GED required; a 2-year degree in Industrial Maintenance or completion of a related apprenticeship preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10+ years in manufacturing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Strong background in electrical and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with machine shop tools and equipment.
- Certifications:
- Graduate of an apprentice program or trade school (preferred).
- Standard hand and power tools.
- Computer skills for drafting reports (Microsoft Word), email communication (Microsoft Outlook), and internet research.
- Basic office equipment, including telephones, fax, and copy machines.
- Ability to move throughout the facility and remain on feet for most of the workday.
- Capability to lift and move up to 60 lbs periodically.
- Comfort working in confined spaces and bending or maneuvering as needed for maintenance tasks.
- Exposure to hazardous and biohazardous materials, including flammable and corrosive liquids, compressed gases, sharps, and medical waste.
