Sr. Mammography Technologist

Virtus Healthcare Staffing seeks a Sr. Mammography Technologist for our partner in San Francisco, CA. We offer a $10k sign-on bonus for this role.

Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Sr. Mammography Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform screening and diagnostic breast imaging and procedures, producing ACR-quality images for both diagnostic and screening exams. This role requires interaction with clinicians and other departments to coordinate patient care, participate in performance improvement activities, and maintain quality control records. The technologist will also assist in routine equipment testing and maintenance and provide training and support to students and new hires as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform screening and diagnostic breast imaging and procedures.
• Produce ACR-quality images for both diagnostic and screening exams.
• Coordinate patient care with clinicians and other departments.
• Maintain and update radiology information system (RIS) and PACS systems.
• Participate in performance improvement activities within the department.
• Maintain quality control records and participate in routine equipment testing and maintenance.
• Train and support students and new hires as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

• ARRT (M) or CRT (M) Mammography Certification
• ARRT (R) or CRT (R) Radiology License
• Graduate of a formal radiology technology training program in an AMA-approved school
• Minimum of 3 years of Mammography experience for Sr. level
• BLS Basic Life Support (CPR) Certification
• Flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to rotate shifts and provide coverage for weekends and holidays.
• Proof of mammography-specific training of at least 40 documented hours (if certified after April 27, 1999).
• Proof of having performed at least 200 mammography exams in the last 24 months.
• Certificates of at least 15 CEUs in Mammography in the last 36-month period.
• Proof of MQSA-approved 8 hours each of Digital and 3D Tomosynthesis training.

Preferred Qualifications:

• More than 5 years of Mammography experience at the Principal level.
• Recent work experience in an acute care setting or university hospital.

Skills and Certifications:

• Minimum of 3 or more years of Mammography experience
• ARRT (M) or CRT (M) Mammography Certification
• ARRT (R) or CRT (R) Radiology License
• Graduate of a formal radiology technology training program in an AMA-approved school
• Flexibility in scheduling, with the ability to rotate shifts and provide coverage for weekends and holidays.
