POSITION PURPOSE:
The position will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting and overall quality of the financial reporting, including audited reports for private fund and related entities.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage full-cycle accounting including preparation and analysis of the financial statements, general ledgers, and subsidiary ledgers.
- Accurately consolidate fund entities through analysis of ownership structures.
- Ensure Funds/investments are being accounted for pursuant to governing fund documents. Able to extract key economics and synthesize information.
- Implement various simple (pro-rata) to complex investor allocation methodologies (examples preferred return calculation, waterfall method) and create and design allocation templates based on needs.
- Review various fee calculations, rebates and offsets for accuracy.
- Review of reconciliations and understand all entries to balance sheet, income statement and other financial statements and footnote disclosures.
- Assist in Treasury functions including review of facility, covenant compliance, liquidity management and cash projections and review of cash transfers.
- Provide accurate and timely financial information to other internal departments as well as external parties, such as lenders, under the specific deadlines.
- Take on special short-term accounting projects, as needed, while balancing recurring responsibilities.
- Preparation and review of interim and annual financial reporting, including consolidated financial reporting as required under GAAP.
- Collaborate cross functionally across various teams within the organization to support needs of department.
- Assist teams on periodic basis to produce and analyze variety of ad hoc and recurring investor reporting.
- Research US GAAP as it relates to significant matters and provide accounting guidance.
- Provide information for and take part in Q&A for audits and tax preparation.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Related Field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years' previous general ledger accounting, financial statement experience
- 2+ years as Supervisor/Manager (will consider Senior ready for next role).
- Fund Accounting with exposure to operations.
- Real estate/private equity experience preferred with knowledge of complex investor allocations.
- Pro?cient in Microsoft O?ce and excellent Excel skills.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP accounting.
- Experience in Yardi, MRI, J. D. Edwards or comparable software.

Actual base salary considers several factors including but not limited to geography, job-related knowledge, experience, and budget. The start of the salary range is typically associated with the minimum experience required. At CIM, base pay is one part of the total compensation package. This role is eligible for bonus pay in addition to base salary. The anticipated base salary range for the position in Los Angeles is $130,000 - $150,000.
