How You Will Make an Impact?
This position will oversee accounting functions, ensure compliance with internal and external reporting guidelines, annual budget process including standards development, internal control compliance, team development, and provide analysis to support corporate decision making.
The Nuts and Bolts
- Responsible for directing the organization's corporate accounting functions, providing leadership and accounting expertise, and will have direct reports including general accounting and others as determined by senior leadership.
- Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately, timely, and completely in accordance with GAAP and that the books are closed each Period on a timely basis.
- Establish strong relationships with inter-departmental peers and be the "go to" accounting source in the Company
- Gain an understanding of key internal controls, policies and procedures related to transactions to monitor and enforce compliance and document business processes and procedures
- Respond to parent company inquiries and reporting and audit requests as priority
- Oversee accounting functions, including but not limited to intercompany accounting, Sales & Use Tax, financial reporting, financial and bank audits, fixed assets, capital spending, Accounts Payables, and Accounts Receivables
- Ensure compliance with internal and external reporting guidelines
- Provide analysis to support corporate decision-making
- Consolidations between Canada and US operations
- Other duties as assigned
Required Credentials
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or finance
- CPA, CMA, or MBA desirable
- 10 years in accounting with at least 5 years in a management role
- High level of proficiency using PC spreadsheets and advanced knowledge of MS Excel
- JDE EnterpriseOne experience helpful
- Minimal travel
You Must Be Able to
Working in an office environment in a seated position a minimum of eight hours per day is required.
The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
