Overview:The primary responsibility of this position will include managing tax personnel to provide tax compliance and planning services and related tax projects for PDS and its affiliates. You will participate in managing the department while working with cross-functional internal departments and contribute to process improvements. You will work with the other managers on the team to lead a team of staff and seniors and participate in their professional development.
This position is hybrid and requires in-office work 4 days a week and 1 day work from home a week.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparation and review of tax returns (operating partnerships, real estate partnerships, S-Corps).
- Oversee work performed by outside tax service providers.
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience with tax issues related to Partnerships, C-Corps, and S-Corps.
- Must demonstrate the ability to effectively manage workflow and teams within deadlines, adhering and participating in all standard structured meetings.
- Adopt new technology tools and implement processing changes.
- Performs people (HR) related functions, such as recruitment, performance reviews, mentoring and training staff.
- Display excellent communication skills, both written and oral, to build relationships with key stakeholders.
- Experience working with and responding to federal, state and local tax inquiries and audit requests.
- Participate in process improvements with the goal to streamline processes to achieve operational efficiencies, benchmarking, and development of performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies, as well as State, Federal and other regulatory bodies.
- Develops and executes on deployment of tax strategies.
- Conduct tax research and work on projects to minimize the tax burden or comply with new rules and regulations.
- Proficiency with respect to current tax laws and tax law changes and ability to perform special tax projects.
- Self-starter with the ability and willingness to exercise independent judgment while at the same time collaborating with others.
- Strong time management skills and an ability to manage multi tasks and priorities in accordance with strict deadlines.
- Maintains effective control processes over all aspects of the tax process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Tax or Accounting with a minimum of 12 years of tax compliance and consulting experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of managerial experience in tax.
- CPA or EA license.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Experience managing a team of tax professionals.
Preferred
- Master’s Degree in Tax.
- Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience (industry experience in addition to public accounting is a significant plus).
- Tax software experience - Thomas Reuters One Source Tax.
- Ability to work with and analyze large volumes of data, including experience with data analytic and RPA tools (Alteryx, UI Path, Power Pivot).

Salary Information:$107,088.00-$180,169.00 / Annually
