With opportunities for professional growth, continuous learning, and flexible work arrangements, you will be part of a team committed to innovation and excellence.Responsibilities:Strategic Vision:• Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive technical strategy that aligns with the company's long-term objectives, ensuring a robust and future-proof engineering roadmap• Drive a long-term vision to scale engineering processes, infrastructure, and technology stacks to support organizational growth and evolving business needs• Influence senior leadership and stakeholders by providing insights and recommendations on technology trends, competitive landscape, and strategic opportunitiesLeadership and Management:• Lead multiple engineering teams, including senior and mid-level engineers, providing strategic direction and ensuring cohesive execution across all projects• Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent, shaping an organizational structure that supports career growth, learning, and performance excellence• Foster a collaborative environment between teams, promoting information sharing, best practices, and a unified approach to product development• Spearhead major cross-functional initiatives, ensuring their successful execution and alignment with the company’s strategic objectivesTechnical Expertise:• Oversee the architectural design, development, and deployment of scalable, reliable, and secure multi-tenant SaaS solutions on Azure/AWS, setting high standards for technical excellence• Champion innovative technologies and development methodologies, ensuring the continuous evolution of our technical stack and processes to stay ahead of market demandsCollaboration and Communication:• Work closely with product managers, designers, and architects to ensure alignment between technical capabilities and business goals• Maintain clear and transparent communication channels within and across teams, providing updates on project status, system architecture, and timeline expectations• Coordinate with distributed teams to ensure seamless feature delivery in a fast-paced and collaborative environmentOperational Excellence:• Define and enforce stringent Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and reliability metrics, driving operational excellence and customer satisfaction• Transform existing processes by implementing proactive, efficient, and resilient systems that enhance operational performance and reduce technical debt• Lead initiatives that promote a culture of continuous improvement, embedding best practices and operational efficiencies across the engineering organizationRequirements and Preferred Experience:10+ years of combined experience, including 5+ years of technical leadership and people management roles, and at least 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with one or more modern languages such as Java, .NET, JavaScript, or NodeJSDemonstrated success in leading multiple teams and scaling engineering organizations to meet substantial business growth demandsProven expertise in Azure/AWS cloud services and cloud-native architecture, with a strong ability to guide and mentor teams in leveraging these technologiesComprehensive understanding of API design, multi-tenant architectures, distributed systems, microservices architecture, and CI/CD pipelinesProven track record of successfully driving large-scale, consumer-facing enterprise SaaS software projects.Advanced knowledge of industry best practices in software development, architecture, and operational excellenceExperience in leading organizational change and driving cross-functional initiatives that align with business strategy and goalsExceptional communication skills with an ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels across the organizationStrong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a history of driving clarity and successful outcomes in complex, ambiguous situationsExemplary collaboration skills, fostering a culture of teamwork, transparency, and trust within and across engineering teams$150,000 - $230,000 a yearOther Compensation: Bonus eligibleThe final compensation will be determined by a number of factors such as qualifications, expertise, and the candidate’s geographical location.What makes OpenGov unique» Leadership: CEO Zac Bookman (MPA from Harvard and JD from Yale) is truly a mission-driven CEO.
