About the Job
The Sr. Marketing Events & Trade Shows Manager, in collaboration with TÜV SÜD, is responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing comprehensive marketing events and tradeshows to drive brand awareness, customer engagement, and revenue growth. This cross-functional role within the marketing team involves planning, coordinating, and managing various marketing initiatives to effectively reach target audiences, generate leads, and support business objectives for the department.
The role will be responsible to implement all Americas regional trade fairs, Lunch & Learns and virtual webinars to grow brand, products and image of TÜV SÜD. Sr, Marketing Events & Trade Shows Manager is responsible for collaborating with the Marketing Director, Operations, and Sales Management to position TÜV SÜD America’s product portfolio to maximize cross-sell potential and coordinate the logistical execution of annual events for TÜV SÜD America while ensuring optimal ROI from the trade show and training programs. Some minor support may be needed for other TÜV SÜD brands for globally positioned events.
Responsibilities
Event Strategy & Planning:
- Develop, direct, and manage strategic planning, budget, and execution of events to achieve business objectives and generate leads.
- Coordinate planning and budget allocation with the Business Unit Head and Marketing Director for all events in the Americas region.
Event Coordination:
- Define goals and targets for events aligned with business strategy.
- Create an event calendar for fairs, webinars, lunch & learns, open houses, and C-level events.
Event Execution:
- Oversee all aspects of trade shows and events, including research, site visits, logistics, contract negotiations, speaker selection, and budget management.
- Develop and direct the design and construction of exhibits/display hardware and graphics.
- Manage inventory of trade show booths/displays and their components.
Event Vendor Management:
- Oversee external vendors, including exhibit companies, promotional item vendors, and logistics companies.
- Draft and negotiate event contracts and sponsorship agreements.
Event Communication & Reporting:
- Ensure marketing efforts for successful event registrations and lead generation.
- Create communication strategies for clients, including events, advertising, email, webinars, web, video, mailings, newsletters, and social media.
- Evaluate ROI based on metrics and conduct post-event follow-up.
Event Design:
- Ensure events align with Corporate Design and Messaging.
- Assist with the design of tradeshow booths and materials.
Webinar Program:
- Develop and execute the webinar program, overseeing program development, speaker recruitment, event moderation, marketing campaigns, and reporting.
Country Support:
- Support marketing needs and ad hoc requests for Brazil, Mexico, and Canada.
- Promote brand awareness and ensure brand consistency across events and materials.
- Oversee sponsorship requests and compliance approval.
Corporate Support:
- Develop and coordinate merchandise material for events in the Americas region.
- Provide minor support for other TÜV SÜD brands for globally positioned events.
Other:
- Stay current with marketing trends through trade publications, professional associations, and continuing education.
- Facilitate or partner on special projects as assigned.
- Some travel may be required.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Mass Communications, Business Management, or a related discipline.
- 3 - 5 years of marketing experience in a B2B environment, preferably in an engineering, industry, or technical field.
- 5 - 8 years of experience with managing US and International trade shows and events
Specific Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Expertise in event marketing, content marketing, search (organic and paid), social media, and digital media channels.
- Proficient in digital tools: Sitecore (CMS), Marketo (marketing automation), CRM tools, and Sprinklr (social media management).
- Skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Strong contract review and negotiation skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Excellent written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a multinational environment and stakeholder management.
- Confident, resourceful, self-motivated, team player, flexible, and proactive.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing environments.
- Strong relationship-building skills with internal customers and colleagues.
