Sr. Marketing Specialist, Industries Marketing
This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the Hartford, CT office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).
The Sr. Marketing Specialist will be part of the Middle & Large Commercial (MLC) & Global Specialty (GS) marketing team within the Commercial Lines organization at The Hartford. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of MLC Marketing, this position will provide marketing support to our MLC industries, while also providing oversight of marketing campaigns and initiatives that span across MLC and GS.
Responsibilities of this role includes but is not limited to developing end-to-end marketing strategies, writing and editing content for an assortment of channels (flyers, email, web, social, announcements, and presentation materials) and driving our thought leadership agenda. This role will partner closely with the Enterprise Marketing & Communications organization.
Our ideal candidate is a highly-organized, self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude and exceptional attention to detail. Must understand how to build and execute marketing strategies using a variety of channels, be able to manage multiple projects and deadlines, build relationships with contacts across organizations, take direction from multiple contacts and effectively evaluate and prioritize requests. This role will have ownership of marketing for multiple client segments within our Middle & Large Commercial organization, while taking direction from senior members of the team and must be able to learn and disseminate information about their product offerings.
Writing and presentation samples may be required.
This role will have a hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the Hartford, CT office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Serve as the lead point of contact for MLC industry leaders and develop marketing strategies and tactics to help promote product offerings and differentiate The Hartford in the marketplace.
+ Collaborate with members of marketing team to develop materials and messaging for a variety of business clients.
+ Assist marketing contacts with strategies and tactics aligned to their business clients. Provide support in the development, writing or updating of marketing collateral materials including flyers, sales support tools, success stories, messaging and presentations as needed.
+ Write creative briefs and partner with writers and designers working on marketing initiatives.
+ Write and edit content for various marketing vehicles including web, social, print/PDF and email.
+ Develop presentation materials/templates in partnership with sales and field organizations as needed
+ Take initiative to learn and understand the business in order to inform marketing decisions and be able to disseminate information to internal and external audiences.
+ Coordinate approvals across multiple teams including brand, marketing, legal/compliance and business partners.
+ Other marketing or communications project work as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ 3+ years marketing, communications, media relations, or similar experience.
+ Insurance industry knowledge a plus.
+ Prior writing/proofreading experience
+ Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail
+ Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
+ Able to work both independently and as part of a team
+ Willing to take direction from multiple contacts and juggle multiple deadlines and projects
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills (writing samples may be requested)
+ Ability to build trusted partnerships with contacts across business areas
+ Experience in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
+ Experience with PDFs and Nuance software a plus.
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$80,000 - $120,000
