Job Summary:
- The Senior Mechanical Engineer in our Facilities group serves as a subject matter expert, collaborating with Project Managers and project teams to oversee the engineering and design of various facilities. These include gas compression stations, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and renewable natural gas (RNG) facilities, liquid pump stations, gas processing units, dehydration systems, heaters, filter separators, oil and gas pipelines, pipeline metering stations, and slug catchers. The engineer will work closely with clients, providing progress updates and delivering cost and schedule forecasts.
Job Duties:
- Prepare specifications and drawings for assigned projects, including performing design calculations.
- Define project objectives, estimates, and responsibilities by reviewing client requirements, project proposals, and plans, while collaborating with the Program Manager, Project Manager, and client representatives.
- Lead the engineering and design of gas compression facilities, liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities, renewable natural gas (RNG) facilities, liquid pump stations, gas processing units, dehydration systems, heaters, filter separators, oil and gas pipelines, pipeline metering stations, and slug catchers.
- Develop scopes of work for service, material, and construction procurement, assess proposals, and provide recommendations for awards.
- Review vendor drawings to ensure alignment with technical specifications, project requirements, applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Conduct and/or review calculations for pipe and valve sizing, hydrostatic test design, hydraulic analysis, compressor and pump design, among others.
- Engage professionally with clients, vendors, regulatory bodies, and permitting agencies.
- Contribute to engineering and design man-hour estimates and project proposals.
- Support the estimation of total installed project costs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering Discipline (BSME)
- Valid Professional Engineer license
- 13-19 years of professional experience with 5 years in oil & gas/utility industry.
- 10+ years of experience with turbomachinery equipment (compressors, turbines)
- Prior work with RNG
- Thorough knowledge of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID), piping drawings, isometric fabrication drawings, bill of materials, and general arrangement drawings.
- Good knowledge of industry codes and standards ASME/ANSI/API/NFPA/CSA codes (ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, 49 CFR 192 & 195).
- Excellent written, verbal communication and organization skills.
