About the Job
Akkodis is seeking a Sr. Medical Device Product Development Engineer for a 12-month contract position with a medical device manufacturer located in Jacksonville, FL. You will be responsible for the design, development, and processing of implants and instruments. This is a remediation integration project. The work is expected to encompass both the development of new products and maintenance of existing products. You will lead small scope projects as a project leader or portions of larger scope project as a core team member.
Rate Range: $46.95/hour to $49.95/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Sr. Medical Device Product Development Engineer job responsibilities include:
• Model creation from scratch
• Additional testing for design verification and validation
• Key Team member of Integration/Remediation of newly acquired product.
• Identifies all tasks required to complete project assignments according to Design Control procedures.
• Participates in root cause analysis
• Generates 3d models and product drawings
• Contributes to generation of a comprehensive protocol for testing/analyzing the product
• Executes generated testing as required
• Prepares definitive new product specifications or modifies existing specifications
• Generates or updates design assurance documentation. Create and update risk management files based on the testing.
• Create print models from scratch to make them workable and editable in the company system.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• B.S. in Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial Engineering, or other engineering science plus three to five years of experience with sustaining, integration and heavy DHF remediation. Also IEC testing.
• Experience with 21 CFR 820.30 (Design Controls) FDA's Quality System Regulation and ISO 13485 regulations.
• Transfer of design specifications into manufacturing specifications (Design Transfer) including document preparation for Design History Files/Device Master Records/Risk Management.
• Experience with complex assembles and electrical components
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Statistical background
• Ability to effectively work within a team and cross functionally to expedite completion of critical project tasks.
• Good documentation skills.
• Microsoft Office Suite and Project. Proficiency with SolidWorks.
