Work on building features like Sticker Tapbacks, Send Later, sending Apple Cash through iMessage, Satellite messaging to bring rich experiences to off-grid communication, and working on carrier services like RCS
You will have the opportunity to work closely with partner teams in Telephony, IdentityServices, iCloud, Wallet, image and video codec teams, and many more
You’ll also have the opportunity to be at the forefront of Messages security, working on BlastDoor—a technology that promotes the isolation and sandboxing of untrusted data as it arrives through various Messages services

• Designing end-to-end protocols for innovative new Messages features
• Developing maintainable Swift frameworks, such as BlastDoor, to significantly improve service reliability and security
• Building infrastructure for safe data handling to prevent against zero-click attacks that don’t require user interaction
• Creating testable code to rigorously test changes and ensure consistent quality over time
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to build exciting new user experiences
• Work on the protocols that build iMessage, Messages via Satellite, Emergency SOS via Satellite, Messages for Business, SMS Relay, and RCSMinimum Qualifications6+ years experience in the industryStrong object-oriented development and design skillsThe ability to adapt quickly to new technical environmentsA passion for modular, maintainable, testable codeExperience with system concepts including multi-threaded processing, synchronization, and interprocess communicationSwift and/or Obj-CPreferred QualificationsAbility to reason about the security or robustness of application softwareExperience maintaining legacy code and backwards compatibility, with a record of replacing legacy code with new things in non-disruptive waysPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range
This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role
The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 and $296,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs
Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan
