About the Job
The Senior Project Manager is a highly skilled project manager who carefully plans and manages all the tasks and activities involved in complex cross functional strategic initiatives. They are responsible for driving and delivering results per charter goals, managing scope, schedule, quality, resources, risk and value/ benefit. The Senior Project Manager coordinates the project constraints and oversees and drives the progress of the project until its completion and until the value is realized. The senior project manager regularly interfaces with senior leaders across R&D to ensure the scope and deliverables are in line with expectations and do not deviate from the initial project plan, managing change control as necessary. They drive stakeholder and senior leader engagement and communication throughout the lifecycle of the initiative to enable informed decision-making and organization buy-in. A project manager remains on duty for the life cycle of the project. The Senior Project Manager typically interfaces with senior leaders across R&D.
A typical day in this role looks like:
- Plan, manage, execute and deliver a complex project/ strategic initiative through its lifecycle within the approved scope, schedule and budget
- Secures acceptance and approval of deliverables and perceived value from the Project Sponsor and Stakeholders
- Determines and manages any project dependencies and critical path for all project activities and artifacts
- Estimates, negotiates, and coordinates project resources
- Maintains the Project Charter, schedule, issues log, budget and risk management plan, and project-level communications
- Manages the risk register and the escalation of risks and issues. Analyzes, evaluates and mitigate project risks and issues and report out to sponsors, governance committees and sr. management stakeholders
- Partners with Change Manager to ensure all PM/CM tasks are delivered and integrated
- Manages necessary project change control/ baselining process
- Leading and ensuring the design of implementation strategies and plans
- Strategic Facilitator driving the business in the analysis of current and future state processes
- Develop, manage and orchestrate project communications across the project team and organization
- Runs regular Project Team meetings with core team and Sponsor Check-In meetings
- Provide regular status updates to the Sponsors and Project Management Leadership, including project-level risks, issues, and escalations
- Oversees progress reports/ dashboards to highlight status, risks, issues and escalations
- Collaborates with cross functional team, project lead, project manager to generate program and/or project artifacts
- Ensure the project achieves its goals, objectives and deliverables as defined by the project charter
- Drives the development of project and process metrics
- Monitors project value/ benefit
- Helps mature the Project Management processes by driving research, innovation and best practices
- Recommends and contributes to project management continuous improvements and process changes

In order to be considered qualified for this role, a minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant project management industry experience managing large, complex projects. A PMP certification is highly preferred.

Salary Range (annually)
$129,800.00 - $211,800.00
