Job Description:
This position is a member of the Customer Technology Infrastructure Services technical team and contributes to the direction setting and definition of middleware service strategies including overall portfolio scope, roadmap development and architecture definition for customer technology solution integration.
The applicant must be knowledgeable of traditional and emerging infrastructure and application solutions including Midrange, Application, Data Services, and Systems Management. The applicant must have a sound understanding of designing and constructing middleware systems that will leverage these solutions.
The applicant will develop and document customer technology strategies and architectures. Also focus on consulting and advising application and infrastructure teams and key projects in guiding to the optimal middleware solutions.
Proactively recommend courses of action to maintain cost effectiveness and competitiveness. Identify troublesome trends as they develop, analyze and/or predict trends and develop a long-range plan designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring in order to maintain high service levels for Customer Technology.
Participate in various IT projects intended to continually improve the infrastructure and continuously strive to improve client support by identifying opportunities and recommend solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Technical Skills:
- Require expertise of Application Server and Web Server architecture in a large enterprise environment using WebSphere Application Server v7.x/8.x ND, Pivotal TC server v3.1, JBOSS, WebSphere Virtual Enterprise (XD) v6.1, IBM HTTP Server, vFabric Web Server.
- Experience in installation, configuration, tuning, troubleshooting, and administering various application server stacks (web servers, application servers, caches, message queues).
- Experience in installing fix packs and DST patches.
- Experience in WSADMIN scripting (Jython) and Shell to administer and automate WebSphere Application Server configuration and application deployment.
- Good understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC).
- Must possess a familiarity of the Java programming languages to assist developers in debugging applications.
- Very good understanding of process/application/JVM tuning, JAVA concepts, application interaction w OS/network tiers/ backends.
- Expert knowledge IBM MQ
- Skill in using analysis, logic and reasoning to troubleshoot issues and find the best solutions to challenges.
- Experience in using monitoring tools like Dynatrace and Splunk.
- Strong familiarity with PCI and PII compliance & standards.
- Familiar with CA Siteminder configuration and usage.
- Experience with Oracle, vPostgres and DB2 databases.
- Experience implementing and managing SSL certificates.
- Good understanding of load balancing concepts and experience with highly available distributed environments, Firewalls, TCP/IP, hardware load-balancing (ideally F5).
- Good understanding of SOA, Web Services (WSDL, XML and SOAP).
- Knowledge of WebSphere MQ Server.
- Strong experience with migration of applications to cloud environments through automation/orchestration. Ability to automate common/trivial tasks.
- Performs project management activities such as planning, sizing, and scheduling activities. Responsible for analyzing problems, developing solutions and making decisions that impact projects.
- Strong communication skills to communicate systems proposals to management and customers and provide systems diagnoses and resolution for current systems
- Strong organization skills to prioritize work, balance and lead complex projects
- Good interpersonal skills to interact with customers, senior level personnel, subordinates, and team members.
- Prefer IBM WebSphere Application Server ND Certification.
