Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team. This role is critical for designing, implementing, and managing robust and secure network infrastructures to support business operations. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in advanced network architecture, troubleshooting, and security practices, as well as a proactive approach to ensuring optimal network performance and reliability. This position starts January 1st and requires an active Secret clearance or higher.
Responsibilities:
- Network Design and Implementation: Architect, design, and implement complex network infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, VPN, wireless, and data center environments, tailored to support business goals.
- Network Maintenance and Optimization: Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve network performance issues. Optimize network performance to ensure high levels of functionality and security.
- Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain security measures, such as firewalls, IPS/IDS, VPNs, and access control, to safeguard data and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Network Upgrades and Expansion: Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and migrations, ensuring minimal downtime and continuity of service. Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans for major network changes.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed and accurate network documentation, including architecture diagrams, configurations, change logs, and performance metrics. Provide regular reports to management on network health, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with IT, cybersecurity, and other cross-functional teams to ensure network infrastructure aligns with overall IT and business strategy. Mentor junior network engineers and provide technical guidance as needed.
- Vendor Management: Engage with vendors to evaluate, procure, and implement network hardware and software solutions. Manage vendor relationships to ensure support and maintenance align with organizational needs.
- Incident Response and Disaster Recovery: Lead network-related incident response efforts and participate in disaster recovery planning to ensure network resilience and rapid recovery from incidents.
