Overview:
As a New Product Introduction Engineer, you will play a key role in the seamless transition of new products from the design phase to full-scale production. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and effective processes are in place for the successful introduction of new products.
Responsibilities:
1. Project Management:
Lead and coordinate the New Product Introduction (NPI) process, ensuring all project milestones are met.
Develop and maintain project timelines, identifying and mitigating potential roadblocks.
2. Collaboration:
Work closely with design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to understand product specifications and requirements.
Facilitate communication between different departments to ensure a smooth transition from design to production.
3. Process Optimization:
Evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes for new products to ensure efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Identify areas for improvement and implement changes as needed.
4. Quality Assurance:
Collaborate with the quality assurance team to establish and implement quality control measures during the NPI process.
Conduct thorough testing and validation of new products to ensure they meet quality standards.
5. Documentation:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to the NPI process, including procedures, specifications, and reports.
Ensure that all relevant stakeholders have access to accurate and up-to-date information.
6. Risk Management:
Identify potential risks associated with the NPI process and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
Proactively address challenges to prevent delays in product introduction.
7. Training and Support:
Provide training and support to production teams during the initial stages of product introduction.
Address any technical issues or challenges faced during the production ramp-up.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
Proven experience in project management, preferably in NPI or a related field.
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
