KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Sr. Okta Engineer/Admin: merger & acquisition domain migration, Workflows, AD, cloud provisioning, IAM, APIs.
Context of the need:
Client is rebranding, and we need to transition our users and applications (400+) from the current Okta tenant to a new Okta tenant, by 8/1/2025. This is a top-down directive which has leadership's primary attention for 2025. The migration entails redoing all Okta app configurations, reissue all API token, migrate each individual app, etc. All this while keeping the user disruption at the minimum.
Key responsibilities:
- Include the support of core IAM systems (including Okta, Active Directory, Office365), as it pertains to user related operations, and other various applications, as well as managing requests and incidents through ticketing system, change control releases via the change management tools (Jira) and documentation through the documentation portal (Confluence).
- This position will be the main point of contact for Okta for this project, and needs the ability to operate with minimum supervision (i.e. We need someone who is experienced, can juggle multiple issues at once, and can work in a rapid pace without losing focus).
Day to Day:
- Live in Okta 2 worlds for the duration of this project (aka be comfortable with handling multiple requests at once).
- Transitioning apps from the current tenant to the new Okta tenant
- Transition all Okta Workflows from the current tenant to the new Okta tenant
- Working with the project lead to provide communication verbiage to the end users, for each app transition
- Support of the transition to the application prior, during and after the transition.
- Working w application owners to transition information: gather requirements, testing, validation, etc.
- Document requirements, migration processes, procedures, and configurations in Jira/ Confluence
- Attend Change Control Forum to present Application Migration one by one, as needed.
Must Haves:
- Bachelor degree, especially a relevant one, is a plus.
- Relevant certifications are a plus.
- Sr. Okta Engineer that has been through mergers or acquisitions specifically
- 4+ years of hands-on Okta experience as the main Okta admin in a company (if the person is not the main admin, the likelihood of them having being exposed to all Okta modules is low / ie. They will only know specific parts, but not the whole picture)
- Okta Workflows hands-on knowledge is strongly preferred, and constitutes and advantage
- Hands-on Active Directory on user related activities (user creation/updates, distribution lists, Organizational units, etc.)
- Working (hands-on) knowledge of cloud provisioning strategies (i.e., SCIM, JIT, etc.)
- Prior experience working with IAM related protocols and standards (SAML, OAuth/OIDC, RADIUS, Kerberos)
- Prior hands-on experience with writing a basic API endpoint connector (json format, authentication mechanisms, etc.)
Nice to have:
- Healthcare, dental, or retail industry experience
- PowerShell scripting
Compensation depends on experience but is typically $50-60/hr W2.
