Maximus is currently hiring for a Sr Operations Financial Planning Analyst to join our Veterans Evaluation Services (VES) team. This is a remote opportunity. The Sr Operations Financial Planning Analyst is responsible for providing critical support and oversight of assigned financial aspects of the Veterans Evaluation Services (VES) Program's financials including; the development and implementation of the annual operating plan, forecasting all expenses, and other key analytical roles to develop process improvements in financial analysis and reporting. This position will be a key liaison between operations and finance and will be responsible for providing direct support to the finance organization within the Federal Veterans Evaluation Services (VES) program.
Job Summary
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the timely preparation and creation of financial reports, budgets and forecasts.
- Lead and coordinate with Operations Management to develop operational productivity analysis.
- Request data from various systems in support of financial administration and analysis.
- Assist the project team with the development of presentations and data requests.
- Provide guidance and monitoring on the creation of project and financial controls.
- Review contract modifications; maintain financial contract files.
- Support month-end close processes such as reconciliations of cash, prepaid, facility or provider costs.
- Responsible for certain Accounts Payable functions (cash disbursements) through the internal purchasing system.
- Provide oversight and guidance and/or monitor vendor and expense report transactions.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- 5-7 years of related professional experience.
Education and Experience Requirements
Additional Duties:
- Supports the timely preparation and creation of financial reports, budgets, forecasts and all required financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, while performing variance analysis between forecast and actuals
- Leads and coordinates with Operations Management to develop operational productivity analysis and create & maintain reports for the tracking of metrics to identify revenues and costs by category, or others as requested.
- Request data from various systems in support of financial administration and analysis. Systems include: Deltek, Cognos, OMS, Salesforce, or other.
- Generate reports and meet deliverables for project reporting to include Monthly Project Reviews, weekly staffing reports, ad hoc reports as requested by the Program Team and Leadership
- Prepare, maintain, report financial data collection; ensure auditability and accuracy of financial records; Explain variances and identify the causes for assigned P&Ls
- Assist the project team with the development of presentations, updates to administrative documentation and the documentation of deliverables.
- Work with internal and external auditors during periodic reviews and audits. Assist in the preparation of periodic audit schedules, tax work papers, revenue by state, and or 1099 deliverables/inquiries.
- Provide guidance and monitoring on the creation of project and financial controls to limit mistakes or errors associated with costs or labor charging.
- Reviews contract modifications, maintain financial contract files and prepare and reconcile reporting on billing stats and funding as appropriate.
- Supports month-end close processes i.e., reconciliations of cash, prepaid, facility or provider costs. Creates journal entries to ensure completeness of project reporting as well as adherence to GAAP.
- Responsible for certain AP functions through Coupa and cash disbursements through bank requests and transactions to ensure vendors and providers are paid accurately and timely.
- Provide oversight & guidance and/or monitors vendor & expense report transactions to ensure expenses are coded correctly.
- Lead cooperative effort among members of a team.
- Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and makes recommended changes to policies and establishes procedures where needed.
- Interacts with different levels of external and internal customers.
- Ensures the confidentiality and security of all corporate information.
- Performs duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or Economics or related field of study.
- Strong organizational, verbal, written, analytical, problem solving, teamwork and communication skills required.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office (strong Word and Excel skills)
- Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
- Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work as a team member, as well as independently.
- Ability to be a self-starter.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards.
