Job Summary:
This role reports to the Director, HR Operations & Total Rewards and will be an integral member of the People & Organizationteam. You will be responsible forpayroll, benefits administration, leave administration, invoicing, and reconciliation.This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of payroll systems and benefits regulations. This role is essential for maintaining employee satisfaction and ensuring the company's compliance with payroll and benefits regulations. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong commitment to accuracy and efficiency.
Location Classification – Hybrid:
This role will be required to work onsite 2 days a week (Tuesday and Wednesday), or more depending on business needs. #LI-Hybrid
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll
- Is the payroll expert. Makes recommendations for payroll related policies. Provides training as needed (i.e. Managers, staff) to ensure compliance and full utilization of tools.
- Responsible for timely, accurately and compliantly processing the bi-weekly payroll.
- Audit and process payroll documents.
- Process employee data for new hires, changes, additional earnings, etc.
- Processes employee Time & Attendance data to payroll and reconcile variances. Approve and release time in the time system.
- Prepares and maintain employee files, assuring accuracy, compliance and confidentiality.
- Maintains WTO usage and accrual records.
- Develops in depth understanding of payroll software and HRIS. Create reports on demand.
- Assists employees in registering for or resetting access to online portal.
- Assist with month-end duties including approving HR related invoices and ensuring timely payment, submitting payroll accrual (with management approval) and general ledger reconciliation.
Benefits
- As the Employee Benefits expert, administers all employee & volunteer benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, disability, retirement programs.
- Enrolls employees with carriers and process life status changes.
- Develops census data for solicitation of insurance co. quotes.
- Ensures the accuracy of all benefit enrollments and provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
- Updates HRIS database with new and changing information; ensures accuracy and integrity of information.
- Responsible for employee benefit file maintenance and storage retention requirements.
- Employee Leaves: Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities. Processes and administers all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability and FMLA. Makes recommendations to employee leave policies.
- Properly record, track and administer the steps needed to comply with COBRA law and appropriately deliver continuation of employee benefits.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education:High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree in related field preferred.
- 12+ years of experience in payroll or benefits administration role
- Ability to multi-task and deliver quality work in a fast-paced environment with tight deliverables
- Experience in self-funded benefits
- Expert utilization of ADP Workforce Now
- Extremely proficient in MS Office: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
- Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
- Highly organized and efficient

- Strong interpersonal communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders, and vendors effectively and clearly in a remote hybrid work environment.
- Ability to travel occasionally including overnight stay driven by business need.
- This position must be able to work East Coast hours.
Compensation:
The expected salary range for this position is $115,000 – $150,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
