JOB SUMMARY
Textron is looking for a payroll tax professional to join our HR Shared Services team as a Payroll Tax Analyst. As a Payroll Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for overseeing payroll tax filings, managing federal, state and local payroll tax notices and ensuring payroll tax compliance for all Textron businesses.This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of payroll tax regulations.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Partner with our payroll vendor to oversee multi-state payroll tax filings and amendments for 50 states and 25 FEINs, while managing federal, state, and local payroll tax notices, including tracking, stakeholder coordination, and resolving issues with root cause analysis
+ Maintain tracking for tax notices, online portals, and payroll reporting of wages, tax withholdings, deductions, etc.
+ Research and reconcile payroll taxes and maintain penalty tax notices and amendment statuses, using ADP Smart Compliance
+ Accountable for ensuring payroll tax compliance by remaining current on legislation and regulatory rulings that impact payroll or payroll tax
+ Oversee Form W-2 process and W-2c corrections needed
+ Provide guidance and support to the payroll team on tax-related matters
+ Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and support
+ Maintain accurate and organized records of all payroll tax activities
+ Manage new earning / deduction codes for taxability impacts (W2, accumulators, supp vs regular tax rate)
+ Administer audit and validation process for supplement compensation payments and work/home location to identify proper state income tax withholding allocations
+ Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
+ Administer payroll tax obligations related to non-qualified compensation plans, ensuring compliance with associated taxation rules and regulations
+ Protect and maintain the privacy of employee personnel records including, but not limited to, personal and compensation information about employees
+ Open to future career development opportunities within Textron business unit locations
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
+ 5 years related experience with a payroll tax department for a medium to large sized employer administering payroll tax filing, registrations and accounting
+ Proficiency in ADP EV5 payroll system
+ Proven ADP vendor management experience
+ Experience accessing and navigating ADP Smart Compliance
+ Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
+ Experience with PeopleSoft Payroll and systems integration is a plus
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES
+ Knowledge of employment related tax rules and regulations from a federal, state, and local level
+ Experience building payroll tax policies including creating and implementing standard operating procedures
+ Understanding of how to operationalize payroll tax compliance within various technology landscapes
+ Ability to escalate issues cross functionally within the organization
+ Capability to focus on and prioritize key actions
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment with focus on on-time delivery.
