JOB TITLE: Sr. Petrochemical Products Consultant
This position will provide Petrochemical Products Marketing study and support to Sinopec Tech Houston Center (STHC) in a multi-disciplinary consulting group, through reviewing and evaluating the status and the latest development trend of the polymer industry of petrochemical enterprises in North America.
The position will also support Sinopec upstream by researching the progress of polymer materials which are used in the oil field chemical applications and in renewables, circular material applications. Candidate will have a total of 10+ years’ experience working in R&D within the petrochemical industry or consulting company in the US and/or international locations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Essential functions require the candidate to screen, evaluate, document, track and disseminate the latest technology progress and market application & practices in above areas and make recommendations to Sinopec for further evaluation.
- The successful candidate should be able to process ample amount of petrochemical market dynamic information and provide insightful analytic report on market status.
- Will conduct survey in new technology and current trends in petrochemical industry.
- Will be responsible for tracking and analyzing the latest technology and writing clear in-depth technical reports in Chinese.
- Must complete and deliver projects timely within constraints of budget and scope of project requirements.
- Strong and proven experience and understanding in petrochemical industry, especially petrochemical polymer product development.
- Knowledge of scientific research, including processes for research and development, and the transition from technology development to implementation.
- Background of polymer science and organic/catalytic chemistry.
- Strong understanding of technology development processes, market adoption strategies, communication standards, and methodologies to implement new technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, and teamwork skills, accomplishment of high quality and high standard work.
- Effectively communicate with both management and technical community.
- Must have the ability to handle multi-projects seamlessly and professionally.
- High degree of integrity and self-discipline to complete objectives on time.
- Ability to handle a variety of confidential IP, relating to the company.
- Ability to persevere through complicated situations and be self-motivated.
- Must always present oneself in a business professional manner.
- Ph.D. in Chemistry, Polymer chemistry or physics, or a closely related science discipline, is required, from an accredited university.
- Must have a minimum of 5+ years of working experience in the chemical industry.
- Must have a minimum of 5+ years of experience conducting market research or competitive intelligence.
- The candidate must have excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
- Some domestic and international travel may be required (normally < 10 % per year).
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
