The Position
We are looking for a Sr. Planner focused on delivering best-in-class marketing strategy, communication ideas, engagement programs, analytics and measurement for our clients. This position will help lead various aspects of the work, from planning, strategic and conceptual program development, and building of business cases. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, curious, self-motivated and hard working.
The Planner serves as a key member of the agency team collaborating with account service, channel marketing and creative teams to develop a framework for strategic solutions and building positive relationships with clients. This role leads the consumer understanding and strategic framework development for their account in both shopper and brand marketing.
Responsibilities
Responsible for synthesizing this knowledge to inspire creative teams through tight briefs and will partner closely with the creative teams to guide the work into fruition. The ideal candidate must be a strong communicator in both written and verbal communications and comfortable translating data to insights and stories to ultimately be delivered to internal and external clients.
The planner’s primary roles are to deliver best-in-class insightful promotions strategy bringing consumer insights to life:
- Interrogate research & market data, extract consumer & shopper insights and communicate those insights to internal teams and to the client(s).
- Undertake secondary and primary research for projects.
- Write appropriate summaries, briefs and presentations.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the client’s business and competitive environment.
- Undertake day-to-day team and client contact.
Apply strategic skill set to assist in the development of client’s business:
- Lead the strategic development process, providing strategic insight and thought leadership from program development to agency POVs.
- Participate in the development of the client’s annual business planning process.
- Lead the development of compelling creative briefs that inspire the team.
- Sift through data, finding patterns to create insights
Exhibit mastery of written business communication as well as presentation skills:
- Lead strategic internal and client presentations.
- Develop a persuasive presentation and story-telling style.
- Be clear in communication and written direction to team members and clients.
