Overview
The Pricing Analyst is responsible for driving the analysis and execution of the Price Optimization. Exceptionally strong analytical and math skills are required, along with a focus on detailed execution of processes. This position will partner with Merchandising, Marketing, Stores and the Information Systems team to drive change management throughout the company. This position is a hybrid role, reporting to the corporate office in Denton Texas on Tuesdays and Weds of each week, working remotely the rest of the work week.

Primary Duties:
Price Execution Analysis:
- Create pricing scenarios supporting existing goals, execute pricing, and verify results against goals.
- Work with Merchants offering strong points of view and recommendations for sales and margin optimization through pricing strategy
Regular Price Strategy and Analysis:
- Work with Director, Pricing Manager, merchandising and store ops to measure results or price zone changes, price change and price tests.
- Deep dive on performance by category and market to make recommendations on test to run and actions to roll out to the chain
- Evaluate effectiveness of pricing methods and rules, identify opportunities, and make recommendations for competitive pricing premiums
Clearance Price Strategy and Analysis:
- Work closely with Director of Pricing, Inventory Management and Merchandising to develop seasonal clearance cadence strategies. Optimize by district where feasible and measure results.
- Work with Manager to develop and execute clearance strategies. Manage not on POG clearance.
- Pricing projects as identified by supervisor
Knowledge, Skills and Abililties:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Math, Finance, Engineering or a related quantitative field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus
- Utilize pricing systems and tools to manage and optimize pricing processes.
- Proven experience with pricing systems and tools (e.g., Nielsen, Revionics, PROS) preferred.
- Prepare regular reports on pricing effectiveness, sales performance, and market trends.
- Lead and partner on initiatives to automate pricing workflows and improve system capabilities.
- 3-5 year in Business
- Retail or consumer products experience a plus, but complex analytical experience is the priority
- Analyst / manager role in an analytical function
- Experience developing a department and process from the ground up
- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Clear, concise communication style
- Ability to drive a cross-functional project
- Ability to develop strong relationships with key partners
- Strong skills in selling point of view and persuading other functions to support your program
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling.
- Familiarity with SQL and other data querying languages.
- Ability to organize and manage a variety of activities while addressing multiple priorities and quickly react to changing business needs while meeting firm deadlines
- Superior strategy development skills
- Strong negotiating skills supported by excellent oral and written communication skills
- Needs to be a self-starter to be able to develop policies and programs to meet new business objectives
Working Conditions /Physical Requirements
- The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
- The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
