About the Job
The Senior Product Manager - Platform AI will lead product management our AI platform team. You have a passion for AI and can envision how AI can improve tax compliance for our internal and external users. You'll partner with our teams across Avalara to deliver world-class innovative AI-assisted products and solutions. You will work remotely out of the US. (#LI-Remote)

You will:
- Be the lead product representative on our internal AI council
- Bring forward prioritized ideas from the AI council and manage them through our SDLC
- Oversee the product backlog for the AI team
- Ensure prioritized initiatives have actionable requirements
4+ years of experience as a product manager working on multiple products with different challenges and opportunities
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (accounting, business, data science, or computer science); MBA desirable
Experience working on SaaS products with customer bases that span small business owners, SMB, and enterprise
Experience building custom reports (and queries) to solve complex reporting requirements
Have worked on products at multiple lifecycle stages, and with different kinds of challenges and opportunities
Experience with agile development methodologies, the Product Owner role, and commonly used tools such as Jira, Confluence
Experience building API-based products
Demonstrated experience partnering with design teams on UI/UX
Experience writing detailed product specs and documentation
Ability to work independently, reporting directly to VP of Platform.
This is an IC role, no management experience needed.
Experience using JIRA, Confluence, generative chat tools like ChatGPT.
